Stintino
ImageStintino
Stintino is an old fishing village (there are still the old tuna-net supports), boasts two well sheltered ports that mark the boundary of the village. These ports offer mooring services and are home to the famous wooden hulled boats with Lateen sails (launches or Ligurian fishing boats), which were once used for fishing, but nowadays are raced at the annual regata of the 'Vela Latina' (The Lateen Sails).

These ports are also home to the boat builders who repair and build new wooden hulls.
After Stintino the coast along the whole Gulf of Asinara is gently sloping.
Next we come to Porto Torres which links Sardinia to the Italian Continent, Corsica and France.
